The BEST BRITISH Bespoke Jewellery COMMISSIONED ONLINE UK
Bespoke jewellery and wedding & engagement ring design services. Love2Have Ltd is proud to introduce to you Paul Allinson, our specialist bespoke British jewellery designer.
Paul is a highly talented jewellery designer/maker & sculptor and has for the last 14 years sold his work under his brand name of Nosallis Designs which he has recently changed to Nosallis Jewellery Design. Most of Paul's work on our website is listed in the Gothic jewellery section.
He makes limited edition pieces of his designs, but his speciality is in doing commission work in all metals from silver to platinum including all stones from semi-precious to high quality certified diamonds when required.
When he first started making jewellery, he used to make pewter Gothic jewellery which he sold in many Gothic shops around the country and also on our website. After a few years, he decided to move away from pewter and work only in all the precious metals.
All his designs are sculpted by himself and then moulded, and cast and everything is all made by hand, he doesn't use any CAD computer programs or any 3D printers.
When Paul is creating a new design for himself, or he is working on customer's commissions, there are two ways that he works. Depending on how complicated the design is, the first way is to sculpt the idea from Super Sculpey. Super Sculpey is a polymer-based clay which goes hard when baked in the oven. Then he creates a mould and casts the design in whatever metal is required.
When making a commission for a customer if the design is too complicated or a lot of detail is needed, this is when it would need sculpting. Once the sculpt is finished the client checks the piece for anything they may want to change. Once they are happy with the design, it is then sent off to be moulded and cast. Pictured here is a finished sculpt of a Dracula belt buckle together with the finished piece underneath it.
The other way Paul creates the pieces is to make it from the raw materials. These materials could be silver, gold or a combination of both. Ideas are sketched out beforehand and once agreed by the customer the piece is soldered using traditional and highly skilled jewellers bench techniques. You will see pictured a piece that was made up using this method together with the original drawing sat next to it.
He has exhibited his work at the Treasure Show in Somerset House London and also at the IJL in London where a man who was the last apprentice taught by the Queens Goldsmith Gerald Benny bought one of his pieces. He has also been judged by the art critic of the times in a competition by This Morning TV who commented on the high quality of the designs and work.
Over the years Paul has been commissioned to make many different pieces which include rings (of all types) pendants, elegant necklaces, earrings, ear cuffs, belt buckles, walking canes, buttons, decorative door handles, decorative pieces for mirrors and large dragon trophy heads. His philosophy is if you don't ask me you'll never know if I can make it. You can contact us at any time if you have a piece of jewellery, an engagement or wedding ring you need commissioning, and we will arrange for Paul to communicate with you directly and help you out.
