We only ask you to provide information that we reasonably need to operate our website, fulfil your order, provide customer service or meet our legal obligations.

Our Lawful Bases for Using Your Information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for processing personal information. The basis we rely on depends on why we use the information.

Contract – We process information where it is necessary to enter into or perform our contract with you. This includes processing an order, taking payment, arranging delivery, communicating with you about your purchase and dealing with returns or other contractual matters.

Legal obligation – We may process and retain information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, including accounting, taxation, and other applicable legal requirements.

Legitimate interests – We may process information where necessary for our legitimate business interests, and those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. These interests include providing customer service and after-sales support, maintaining appropriate records of previous purchases, protecting our business and website, preventing fraud and dealing with legal claims. One particular legitimate interest is retaining limited information about previous purchases so that we can help customers who later need to identify or replace an item. This can be especially important with jewellery such as rings, where a customer may contact us many years after the original purchase to establish the design, specification or ring size previously ordered.

Consent – Where consent is required, such as for non-essential analytics cookies, we rely on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Your Payment and Card Details

We take particular care with payment information.

Online Card Payments

Worldpay processes online card payments securely. When you choose to pay by card online, you are directed to Worldpay's secure payment environment to enter your card information. Love2Have does not receive, see or store your full credit or debit card details when you make an online card payment. Worldpay processes the card payment and provides us with the information necessary to confirm whether the transaction has been authorised and to administer your order.

Telephone Card Payments

If you choose to pay by card over the phone, you provide your card details during the call. We enter those details directly into the secure Worldpay Virtual Terminal while processing your payment. We do not write down, record or retain your full card details. Once we process the transaction, Love2Have does not keep those card details. We review our Worldpay payment-security compliance annually and follow the applicable requirements for our payment arrangements.

Customer Accounts

If you create an account with Love2Have, we retain the information associated with that account, which may include your name, address, telephone number, email address and order history. Your account enables you to use relevant account features and allows us to provide customer and after-sales service. You are responsible for keeping your account login details confidential. If you would like us to close your account, please get in touch with us. Closing an account does not necessarily mean we can immediately delete every record connected with previous transactions, as we may need to retain certain information for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business purposes.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We do not keep personal information longer than we reasonably need it for the purpose for which we use it, taking into account our legal, accounting, contractual, and legitimate business requirements. We retain order and transaction records for as long as necessary to meet applicable accounting, taxation, and legal requirements. We may retain limited information about previous purchases longer where we have a legitimate business need to provide ongoing customer and after-sales service. For example, customers sometimes contact us many years after buying a ring because it has been lost and they need us to identify the original design, specification or ring size. For this reason, relevant historical order information may be retained for longer than the minimum accounting period where it remains reasonably useful for this purpose. We periodically review older information and will delete or anonymise personal information that we no longer reasonably need, unless we are required by law to retain it. We retain correspondence and enquiries only as long as reasonably necessary for customer service, record keeping, dispute resolution, or legal purposes.

Who We Share Your Information With

We only share personal information where necessary to operate our business, provide the service you have requested, or comply with the law.

This may include:

Worldpay – to process card payments securely.

Royal Mail – where necessary to deliver your order. We provide the information reasonably required to arrange and complete delivery.

Website, hosting and IT service providers – where they process information on our behalf to provide, secure, maintain or support our website and business systems.

Professional advisers and authorities – where reasonably necessary, for example accountants, legal advisers, insurers, regulators, law-enforcement agencies or HM Revenue & Customs.

We may also disclose information where required to do so by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights. We do not sell, rent or trade customer information to other businesses for marketing purposes.

Jewellery Designers and Suppliers

We normally send orders to customers by Love2Have rather than directly from our jewellery designers or suppliers. If exceptional circumstances require us to send an order directly from a supplier or designer to meet an agreed delivery requirement, we will inform you before providing them with the personal information required for delivery. We will only provide the information reasonably necessary to fulfil that delivery.

Marketing Communications

Love2Have does not currently operate bulk promotional email or text-message marketing. Our website may offer a marketing preference option when you order or create an account, but we do not use your customer details to send bulk marketing communications. If we introduce email or other direct marketing in the future, we will do so in accordance with applicable data protection and electronic marketing law and provide the appropriate choice to consent, unsubscribe or object as required. We will not sell your details to third parties for their marketing.

Google Analytics

Where you consent to analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to learn how our website is used. This may include information about pages visited, interactions with the website, approximate location derived from technical information, device and browser information, and other website-usage data. We use this information to understand website performance, identify how customers navigate Love2Have and improve our website and services. Google processes information through Google Analytics in accordance with its own privacy and data-processing arrangements. You can refuse analytics cookies when our cookie notice is displayed or change your cookie preferences later.

International Customers and Deliveries

Love2Have accepts orders from customers outside the United Kingdom. If you ask us to deliver an order internationally, we will need to provide relevant personal information to organisations involved in completing the delivery, such as Royal Mail, overseas postal operators, customs authorities, or other organisations involved in international delivery and customs processing. This may result in your delivery information being processed in countries outside the United Kingdom. We provide only the information reasonably necessary to fulfil your international order and comply with applicable customs, postal, and legal requirements.

International Processing by Service Providers

Some organisations that provide services or technology to Love2Have may process information outside the United Kingdom or use systems located in other countries. Where UK data protection law applies to an international transfer of personal information, we take reasonable steps to ensure that an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or safeguard is in place as required by applicable data protection law.

Keeping Your Information Secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. We restrict access to customer information to those who reasonably need it for legitimate business purposes. No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take protecting customer information seriously and review our procedures where appropriate.

Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which we process your information, UK data protection law may give you rights including:

* the right to be informed about how we use your personal information;

* the right of access to personal information we hold about you;

* the right to rectification if information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete;

* the right to erasure in certain circumstances;

* the right to restrict processing in certain circumstances;

* the right to data portability in certain circumstances;

* the right to object to certain processing; and

* the right to withdraw consent where our processing is based on your consent.

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which your information is being processed. If you would like to exercise a data protection right, please contact us using the details at the top of this Privacy Policy. We may need to ask for information to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the timescales required by applicable data protection law.

Your Right to Object

You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests in certain circumstances. If you object, please tell us what processing you are concerned about and why. We will consider your request under data protection law. If personal information were ever used for direct marketing, you would have the right to object to that use at any time.

Data Protection Complaints

If you have concerns about how we collect, use, retain, or protect your personal information, please contact Love2Have using the contact details at the top of this Privacy Policy. We take data protection complaints seriously and will investigate concerns appropriately. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection regulator.

Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, United Kingdom.

The ICO provides information about making a data protection complaint on its website.

Information You Need to Provide When Ordering

We need certain personal information to enter into and perform a contract with you. For example, if you place an order, we need sufficient information to identify you, process the transaction, communicate with you and deliver your purchase. If you do not provide information that is necessary to fulfil an order, we may be unable to accept or complete that order.

Automated Decision-Making

Love2Have does not use customer personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on customers.

Children's Privacy

Love2Have is a general retail jewellery website, and our services are not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children for purposes unrelated to purchasing or enquiring about our products. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in circumstances that cause you concern, please get in touch with us.

Our website may contain links to websites operated by other organisations. Love2Have is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites we do not operate. If you follow a link to another website, you should read that organisation's privacy information to understand how it handles your personal data.
