Tips For Planning Your Wedding Whilst Working Full Time

A full time job and planning a full scale wedding are a combination that can lead to stress, stress and more stress! So, how do you get your work done and keep the boss happy whilst planning the day of your dreams?

1. Lunch Times Are Your Friend! – Use your lunch times wisely. Plan a schedule the night before to include the following: eating lunch, calling vendors, sending/replying emails, a quick shopping trip, working on your ongoing TO DO list and any other errands.

It is also a good idea to bring lunch with you which will not only save you money but will save the time it takes you to buy it.

2. Get To Work Earlier - If you begin to fall back on your work remember you can come in an hour or so earlier in the morning or leave later. During this quiet time you will be able to get lots of work done!

3. Stop Chatting! – Don’t let your boss think you are getting distracted from your work. Keep the chats with your fellow workers down to a minimum.

4. Save Your Holiday – Remember not to blow all your holiday entitlement before your wedding as you’ll need it for your honeymoon and a few days before and after the wedding.

5. Designate Call Back Times – If you need somebody like a vendor or member of family to call you back make sure they do so at a designated time e.g. between 11:00 and 12:00. This will help you keep your work and wedding planning separate.

6. Use Emails As Much As You Can – Emails are great! You can choose when to send and reply and you can keep a visual record of everything you have sent and received as well as printing out the important bits. Emails also reduce phone bills and prevent you from getting caught by your boss talking on the phone.

7. Get Others Involved! – You now have two full time jobs so get as many people as you can involved in planning your wedding. Set them specific tasks with fixed deadlines and make sure you thank them for it!

8. Don’t Panic! – You will inevitably feel stressed at some point but this is normal. After all, you’re planning for the happiest day of your life. As long as you stay organised and plan ahead you will be fine!

9. Stay Healthy! – Eat well, sleep well and exercise more. With a healthy mind and body you will be able to cope with both your wedding planning and a full time job with ease.
