Diamond Rings for men are now in vogue.

Traditionally when couples got engaged it was usually the woman that received a diamond ring as a sign of betrothal. Men rarely wore engagement rings and certainly a diamond ring would not have been a common item for your average man.

Most traditional ladies engagements rings were either a single small diamond usually set in 9ct yellow gold or 3 diamonds which were taken to mean 'I love you'.

How times have changed as not only have the styles of diamond rings changed, but men are now often choosing to wear a ring once they become engaged.

The most noticeable change has been in the choice of metals and we have seen an increasing demand for diamond rings made from titanium, black zirconium, steel and silver. Although silver is relatively soft and perhaps not the best choice for a ring that will be worn long term, silver diamond rings are indeed a very popular choice for both men and women.

Whilst there is no doubt that cost plays a big part for most people when choosing a diamond ring, there is no doubt that the silver coloured metals make particularly attractive jewellery which is both stylish and modern. Although white gold is an alternative it is more expensive and some people do have allergies to this. Platinum whilst fabulous to look at and wonderfully hard wearing, is beyond most peoples price range.

Diamond rings have changed and there is a much wider choice these days to suit all tastes and all budgets.

Diamonds still really are a girls best friend and although most women would dearly love a big sparkler, in reality we all have to settle for something a bit more affordable.

Although we often get asked about fake diamonds, most of our designers won't use anything but real diamonds in their rings - they simply don't look as good as the real thing. Smaller diamonds cleverly set in a contemporary style band can look understated but absolutely stunning. Coloured diamonds and in particular black diamonds, have also become very popular for mens rings and look particularly stylish set in rings made from a combination of silver and steel.

Many couples now are opting to buy diamonds rings which double as both engagement rings and wedding rings and they will often choose matching styles but with a narrower version for the lady. Whether you are a traditionalist or whether you favour something a bit more unusual, there is these days a much wider choice of diamond ring designs to suit the tastes of men and women of all ages.
