The diamonds you see in the high street might seem like a real bargain at first glance however the mass produced diamond rings are set with inferior quality diamonds. Factors such as clarity and cut are compromised. At Love2have we call this the sparkle factor which is what gives a diamond its trade mark appearance. The above example shows an engagement ring with a brilliant cut diamond of H,Si quality. |
A fact that most people realise is that diamonds vary in price according to size and quality. We know that many of you don't have huge budgets when it comes to purchasing a diamond engagement which is why we have carefully selected our rings to feature on this site. The diamonds are all of a quality that sparkle and at a size that is noticeable. |
This is a fabulous set of 3 silver rings with a choice of colourful gemstones so that you can mix and match. The rings themselves are all sterling silver, flat band, 2.5mm width by approx 1.3mm side wall. The stacking set comes with a ring set with a 4mm gemstone, one with a 6mm gemstone and one with an 8mm gemstone. |

We can go into more detail by explaining in detail the four factors that combine to help customers choose the correct diamond. The first of these is the cut or shape. The quality of this is very important as it will relate the brilliance or reflective quality of the stone. A higher quality cut means more sparkle. A craftsman will endeavour to create a nice even shape all over so that the light reflects in a perfect uniform fashion with in the stone. There are various shapes the most popular of which is the brilliant cut style as pictured above. |
The clarity of a diamond indicates the number of natural flaws in the stone. The less there are the more your diamond will shine. A VS stone is know as very slightly imperfect which does still give you a nice shiny stone. The diamonds on our site are VS1 or 2 stones or SI (slightly imperfect) depending upon the ring you buy, Basically this means that your diamond will sparkle in natural light. Many high street retailers sell stones of a lesser quality than ours so even though they look like a bargain buyer beware of shop windows with brightly lit displays! |
The colour of diamond is exactly how it sounds. When a diamond has no colour it is known as a white diamond as opposed to the opposite end of the spectrum being black which does really mean a black diamond. The less colour a diamond has the more valuable the stone which is part of the reason why white diamonds are the most popular colour choice for our customers when buying diamond rings and jewellery. This being said some coloured diamonds do occur naturally but these are very very expensive and also very rare indeed. |
|
A far as the worth of a diamond goes it is the weight of a diamond that normally dictates its final retail price. This is known as the carat rating of a stone and it rises exponentially from one size to the next. For example a 4 carat stone is not double that of a 2 carat diamond but in fact very very much more. The most popular carat we sell on our site is 0.25ct (quarter carot) - a nice size diamond that is within a price range that most customers should be paying for a quality diamond ring to be used as maybe for an engagement ring. |
Now that we have studies all the factors in the sizing and pricing of diamonds you can use this knowledge to your advantage to buy the best possible diamond ring that is within your budget. To buy a larger stone consider compromising on colour and clarity first. Clever stone settings in some rings together with design can also make a stone appear much bigger than it really is in some diamond rings so spend some time choosing your ring carefully. unique engagement rings. |
What does your engagement ring mean now that you have taken the plunge? Engagement rings date back to Egyptian times when the ring around the finger signified a never ending band which was translated to the symbol of never ending love. With a ring from Love2Have we wish you all the best for your future together. unusual engagement rings. |
