Six easy ideas to save you money on storage ideas for your jewellery and gifts

At Love2Have we post all our jewellery out with custom designed hard wearing jewellery boxes for our customers. Occasionally though you may find yourself in possesion of some jewellery or a gift you may have bought or been given or been given that isn't boxed. In this day and age of trying to save money packaging and gift boxes can be quite expensive so here a few ideas you may like to consider as an alternative to put your jewellery in when you aren't wearing it.

1. Shoe Bags - You may not have come across these before but they hang in wardrobe. They are sometimes made from clear plastic and are about the size of a shirt. They consist of multiple pockets so there is plenty of storage space for multiple small items such as jewellery and rings. Alternatively if you are of the practical type you can sew one together and hang it from a coat hanger yourself.

2. Biscuit Tins - The simplest idea in this list. Not only were the contents of the tin very nice at one time but the tin itself can be used again for storage. A great idea for those that believe in recycling. Decorative ideas for the creative include spray painting the outside or wrapping the tin with fabrics.

3. Plant Pots - The most bizarre idea here but cheap plastic pots from the garden centre make ideal containers for small items of jewellery. Again decorate them with paints and materials to match there surroundings.

4. Glass Bottles - You will find yourself never short of glass bottles. They are everywhere in your kitchen cupboard in all shapes and sizes so it won't be long until you come across the perfect one for holding those precious items. If you have no luck a visit to your local supermarket will simply solve the problem and you can take your unwanted bottles to the recycling bins too. They are easy to label also with sticky labels.

5. Filing Units - The A4 size desktop variety with drawers available from all good stationery retailers. Maybe not the best or attractive looking option but none the less inexpensive.

6. Gift Boxes - Yes they are expensive and we said to begin with don't buy anything you can't afford but remember to just keep the ones you receive at christmas etc. The cheapest option of all as they are free. Obvious really.
